Turn is seeking a Compliance Manager to be responsible for managing and administering all elements of the employment screening and review processes, including the background check process of prospective workers for our on-demand partner platforms. This includes management of applicable vendors and downstream data partners as well as providing compliance insights into the development of new product offerings.
The ideal candidate will have previous compliance experience in a venture-backed or public labor marketplace such as Uber, Instacart, Amazon, DoorDash, Grubhub, etc.
2-3 years’ legal experience (as paralegal or legal assistant)
Excellent command of the English language
Experience reading and applying governmental regulations
Interest in learning about US laws
Prior experience working for a US company a plus
Familiarity with US state compliance is a plus
High discretion and judgement skill is a must
Excellent research skills is a must (Investigative research or paralegal, experience a plus)
Ability to work under deadlines is a must (experience in production environment a plus)
Strong interest or experience in privacy and data protection principles
Experience in project or program management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
This role can be remote (anywhere in Mexico) but Mexico City is preferred as the company operates under the Central Time Zone (CST).
