About You:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support our finance team in ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes. In this role, you'll play an essential part in monthly close activities, managing accounts payable and receivable, overseeing invoicing, and assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements. Your focus will be on maintaining clarity and organization in all financial reporting and reconciliation tasks.
The ideal candidate is eager to grow within the accounting field, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and interested in the startup culture, particularly within the tech industry. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role collaborates with other departments to streamline financial operations.
Support month-end closing activities
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
Calculate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) with guidance
Help prepare month-end accruals and financial statements
Manage invoicing processes, accounts payable, and receivable
Set up new partners in our back-office systems
Contribute to collections and oversee A/R and A/P Agings
Reconcile vendor invoices and ensure accurate record-keeping
Record and classify expenses across General Ledger (GL) accounts
Assist in resolving partner invoicing or vendor billing issues
Perform basic working capital analysis and other finance tasks (13 week cash flow reporting, etc.) as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
Fluency with US GAAP bookkeeping and accounting principles
Solid understanding of US GAAP financial statements and accounting processes
Experience with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks; familiarity with Stripe is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Experience in a startup or tech environment with US based companies
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Contador Público Certificado (CPC) designation preferred
